A Thuisti,

Gaelic Football

Our girls’ football team are playing Kill N.S. this Thursday at 1.00p.m. in Rathmolyon leaving the school at 12.10p.m. Please arrange a lift for your child if you cannot attend yourself.

Our boys’ team don’t have a game this week.

Computers

The second of our four computer lessons takes place this Wednesday for all classes. We are hoping to pay Colm the remainder of the money this week so please send in €8.00 (in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it).

Children’s Book Festival

Each year all our classes visit various libraries as part of the Meath County Council Children’s Book Festival.

Every year since the introduction of the festival all our classes have been given the opportunity to visit a library despite the high demand from all schools in Meath.

The following classes will be visiting libraries over the next few weeks which will be attended by various authors.

Friday October 13th – Juniors to 2nd class Ashbourne Library (Gerry Daly).

Monday October 16th – 5th and 6th classes Navan Library (Nicola Pierce).

Unfortunately due to the high demand for places our 3rd and 4th class have not been offered a place. They will, however, have a recorded session with an author over the next few weeks and will be involved in various competitions.

These events are free but we will have to pay for buses. Juniors to 2nd class – Cost of bus is €8.00.

5th and 6th – Cost of bus is €10.00.

Please send in the money in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it.

Administration of Medicines

All families who have children with medical issues (nut allergies, asthma etc) must return the Administration of Medicines forms by October 6th. The form can be downloaded from the school website. This form must be returned regardless of whether the form was filled out last year.

Art & Craft, Insurance and Homework Journals

We have some parents/guardians who haven’t paid for the items above. We will send out the link for payment again today or if you wish you can send in cash in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it.

Attendance for September

The attendance figures for September was 93.8%. In our strategy for School Attendance Policy we are aiming this year for an average attendance of 95%.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
