Thinking of our dear friend and colleague Mr. Tansley as he continues on his road to recovery.

Book Fair

Instead of our annual book fair the Parents’ Association asked could they organise a second hand book fair this year. We have agreed to this and we will reschedule our book fair for next year. This book fair will take place on the week of Monday 22nd April and will tie in with World Book Day on Tuesday 23rd April. Children will have an opportunity then to dress up as their favourite characters, and buy books at the fair. More details will follow closer to the date.

Gaelic Football

Caroline (G.A.A. coach) is coaching pupils from 3rd to 6th on Tuesdays for the next couple of weeks. The timetable will then change and she will coach the junior classes in the near future.

“Healthy Kidz”

Coaches Tom and Shauna continue to deliver the “Healthy Kidz” P.E. Programme to all classes every Wednesday. If anyone is interested in joining the after school “Healthy Kidz” club on Wednesday please contact the coaches.

Swimming

Swimming continues until March 21st for pupils in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th classes.

Meath Local Enterprise

Meath Local Enterprise are offering a one hour Enterprise Awareness Workshop to show pupils that they have the ability to come up with a business idea of their own. The workshop will take place on Monday March 11th for 5th and 6th pupils.

Fairyhouse Racecourse

5th and 6th class pupils will visit Fairyhouse racecourse next Thursday March 14th. The children will learn about the horse racing industry and the career of a jockey. They will meet a jockey and a trainer. Representatives from R.A.C.E. (Racing Academy & Centre of Education) will be present with their racehorse simulator for the children to try and the Racecourse Manager will take the students out on the track. Children will travel by bus leaving the school at 10.00a.m. The tour will take approximately two hours. The cost of the bus is €10.00 per child. Can you please send in money in an envelope with your child’s name on it by Monday March 11th.

Céilí

Our annual céilí will take place on Friday March 15th. Children wishing to perform at the céilí e.g. sing, play an instrument, do a solo dance etc are welcome to join in. The children should come to school dressed in the Irish colours. The school will close at 1.40p.m. for all pupils on Friday March 15th.

Incredible Edibles

Ms. O’ Donoghue and 3rd and 4th class are participating in the Incredible Edibles programme.

Incredible Edibles is an award winning healthy eating and growing programme. This hands-on SESE linked programme can strengthen geography, science, and maths learning while giving pupils the tools needed to make better food choices.

First Confession

Pupils in 2nd class are preparing for their first confession which will take place in Rathfeigh church next Tuesday March 12th at 7.00p.m.

Easter Egg Hunt

On Friday March 22nd we will have our traditional Easter egg hunt at school. Children will search for eggs and there may be a few surprises along the way, so watch out for them. More details to follow.

School Closures:

School is closed this Friday March 8th for the referendums.

School is closed Monday March 18th as per school calendar.

School is closed for Easter holidays Monday 25/03/24 until Friday 05/04/24 incl.as per school calendar.
