19th March, 2024.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Everyone enjoyed a very busy week last week.

Second class pupils received the sacrament of reconciliation.

G.A.A. coach Caroline is coaching pupils from 3rd to 6th on Tuesdays for the next couple of weeks.

Coach Tom is delivering the “Healthy Kitz” P.E. programme to all pupils on Wednesdays. If anyone is interested in joining the “Healthy Kidz” club on Wednesday after school all details were sent out last Thursday and will be sent out again today. The new six week term begins tomorrow (Wednesday).

On Thursday 5th and 6th had a very enjoyable day at Fairyhouse racecourse. First, second, third, and fourth completed their 5th swimming lesson.

Everyone participated in our annual céilí which took place on Friday. A big thank you to Roisín, Eilín, Aibhlinn, Niall, Ella, Sophie, Rosie, Aibhinn, Faye and Nicola for their performances and all the pupils who played the tin whistle.

We entered the “An Post” handwriting competition and the Meath Libraries competition. Fifth and Sixth class participated in a workshop provided by Meath Local Enterprise. We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge and International day of Mathematics so by Friday everyone was ready for a well earned rest.

As summer approaches please make sure your child’s name is clearly written on their sweatshirt. Every year items of clothing especially sweatshirts are unclaimed because we cannot find the owner. School uniform shorts sit just above the knee, are plain navy in colour and have no logos

.Ms Cullen has been teaching 1st and 2nd class since January and is finishing on Friday 22nd March. We thank Ms. Cullen for all her hard work, commitment and dedication. We wish Ms. Cullen every success in her future career.

Mr. Mc Lornan has been with us since September and is finishing on Friday 22nd March. We thank Mr. Mc Lornan for all his hard work, commitment and dedication. We wish Mr. Mc Lornan every success in his future career.

If you are willing to help out on Saturday 13th April, please return the slip this week.

We are having our Easter egg hunt on Friday. School will close for all pupils at 12 noon on Friday 22nd and there is a school bus. Unhealthy lunch is optional.

Finally we are thinking of our dear friend and colleague Mr. Tansley and his family. We are sending them our best wishes as Easter approaches. Easter symbolises hope and renewal and as the saying goes “ no winter lasts forever, no spring skips its turn”. Wishing everyone a very happy Easter.

Is mise,

Jackie Vaughan.
Acting Principal.
