A Thuisti,

Secondary Schools

All parents/guardians of 6th class pupils must contact secondary schools immediately for information on open evenings and enrolment forms.

Gaelic Football

Our girls’ and boys’ football teams had two great victories last week. Well done to both teams for playing in such a sporting manner. Our boys are playing in Navan O’Mahoney’s tomorrow at 1.00p.m. We will be leaving the school at 12.15p.m. We will need help with lifts. If you are unable to give your child a lift please make arrangements with another parent/guardian. The girls will also have a game this week. We will text you when the day and time have been organised.

School Self-Evaluation in Science

We have just started a school self-evaluation of Science in our school. Contributions and reflections from parents, guardians and pupils will be a central part in this evaluation. Over the next few weeks we will get feedback from all stakeholders. If anyone has access to science resources please contact the school.

Social Media

Last year we got Zeeko Education to visit the school to talk to the children about digital safety. As parents we can be overwhelmed by the pace of which technology is developing. All parents/guardians should have their own strategy for their children re managing the use of technology and time spent online.

E.G. do your own research about apps and games. Try not to confiscate devices as punishment. Encourage and promote a healthy online/offline balance. Have regular conversations about staying safe online. If your child is using messaging apps like Snapcat on a regular basis it is important that usage is monitored regularly in case inappropriate conversations are taking place.

Gaeilge

This week’s Briather na Seachtaine is Oscail (to open) e.g. Oscail do mhála scoile, Oscail an buidéal, Oscail an cuisneoir (fridge).

This week’s Frása na Seachtaine is Cé leis é? (who does this belong to). Is liomsa é (It’s mine)

Punctuality
