A Thuisti,

Retirements/Career Break

Mrs Mc Auley and Mrs Long will be retiring at the end of this school year. Both teachers have given great service to Rathfeigh N.S. and we wish them both happiness and good health for the future. Mrs Mc Auley’s vacant position will be advertised during the summer holidays. There won’t be a replacement teacher for Mrs Long as we were unsuccessful in our appeal to the Department of Education regarding the loss of a teacher for the new school year.

Ms. O’ Donoghue is taking a career break for the next school year. This position will be advertised during the summer holidays. We hope Ms.O’Donoghue has a successful career break and we hope to see her back in Rathfeigh for the start of the 2019/20 school year.

WhatsApp

Many parents/guardians are on various school WhatsApp groups like many schools throughout the country. Most of the time these groups are very beneficial and can be a great resource for parents/guardians. If you have a concern, however, about a teacher or the school leadership it is best to talk to the class teacher or myself directly. Face to face is always the best way. Criticising children or teachers on these apps is inappropriate.

Gaelic Football

Our girls’ football team had two great victories last week against Curragha and Moyalvey. Our boys’ defeated Curragha and Boyerstown. Both teams wore their newly sponsored jerseys for the first time. Once again we would like to thank Paul and Bridget Copeland (Copeland Coppersmiths) and Val and Anastasia Clarke (Tara Developments) for sponsoring the jerseys.
