A Thuisti,

Board of Management

I would like to thank all members of the school’s Board of Management (2015 – 2019) for their dedication and commitment over the last four years. A huge amount has been achieved in the school in that time and the Board of Management played a strong role in supporting the staff in improving the teaching and learning in the school.

Maura Kennedy is the new Chairperson of the Board of Management and I wish Maura the best of luck in her new role. As mentioned in the letter given to parents/guardians last Wednesday two parents/guardians (one being a mother/guardian and the other a father/guardian) must be elected as Parent Nominees to the Board of Management. A meeting will be held in the school on Monday February 24th at 7.30p.m. for election onto the new Board . At this meeting:

  1. Nominations will be sought from parents/guardians for persons to stand for election as parent/guardians nominees on the Board
  2. A ballot will be held at the meeting to elect nominees.

If you wish to be nominated you must be in attendance at the meeting. If you want to vote for a nominated person you must be in attendance at the meeting

Vaccination Programme

The H.S.E. Vaccination Team will visit the school tomorrow Tuesday 18th  to vaccinate the Junior Infants for MMR and a booster of 4 in 1.

Badminton

The pupils in 6th class are playing badminton in Simonstown GAA in Navan  tomorrow at 12.00p.m. They will be leaving the school at 11.30a.m.  and will be leaving Navan at 2.00p.m. Please organise a lift for your child if you can’t go yourself.

Pancake Tuesday

The children in 6th class will be making pancakes in school after the midterm break on Tuesday February 25th for the whole school. We will need a few parents/guardians to help with the making of the pancakes from 9.00a.m. to 11.30a.m. As we are a Nut Free school we ask the parents/guardians and the 6th class pupils not to use any toppings etc that have traces of nuts as we have a number of pupils with life threatening allergies to nuts.

Please contact the class teacher if your child is not to have a pancake. As part of our Amber Flag Mental Health initiative the proceeds from the pancakes will go to Pieta House. We are asking the children to donate €2.00 each for this worthwhile cause.

Swimming

Swimming takes place for 4th, 5th, and 6th classes  on Tuesdays for five weeks starting after the mid-term break on Tuesday February 25th. The cost is €35.00 per pupil. Please send in the money as soon as possible.

Midterm Break

The school is closed on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st for midterm break.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
