A Thuisti,

Confirmation

A big congratulations to the pupils in 6th class who received their Confirmation on Sunday. It was a lovely occasion and the children showed great maturity on the day. They were a credit to their families and to the school. We hope everyone enjoyed the celebrations afterwards. A lot of preparation and teamwork goes into the Confirmation. Thanks to Ms. Reynolds for preparing the children so well for their big day. Thanks to Mrs Vaughan for organising the choir. This was a big undertaking as this was the first time only one school was singing in the choir. The children sang beautifully and we thank everyone who gave of their time for practices and for coming to the Confirmation on Sunday. It was lovely to see some past pupils (Jack, Meadow and Faith) also singing in the choir. It really added to the occasion. We also thank the parents/guardians  and our Parents’ Association for the huge spread of food in Skryne Hall afterwards and for stewarding of the car park (Shane). Thanks to Shane/ Caroline for all their work with the ‘Guardian of Light’ art. Finally a big thanks to Helen for organising the Confirmation Booklet.

Safer Internet Day (SID)

Tomorrow is Safer Internet Day. The aim of SID is to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones. We will continue to promote the safer and responsible use of technology in school. Parents/guardians have a central role in this also.

Badminton

The sixth class pupils will be playing badminton in Simonstown GAA centre Navan on Tuesday February 18th. This has been organised by Teresa Mangan. The children will be leaving the school at 11.30a.m.  and returning at 2.00pm. We will need help with lifts. Please organise lifts as soon as possible.

Tesco Community Fund

We have been chosen as one of three schools to take part in the Tesco Community Fund. If you are shopping in Tesco Ashbourne please put as many blue tokens into the  ‘Rathfeigh National School’ container. This  will be for another six weeks. Please ask your friends and family to support us. The more tokens we collect the more money for the school. Thanks.
