We are undertaking a self evaluation of literacy in our school. The aspect that we are focussing on is reading. To help us in that evaluation we would be very grateful for your views and opinions in the questionnaire attached. The questionnaires need to be completed for all children in all classes except Junior Infants. Please complete and return the questionnaires before Wednesday 13th February.
Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday. We have a tradition in the school whereby sixth class pupils make pancakes for all pupils in the school. We need a number of parents to help out tomorrow morning from 9.15a.m. to 10.30a.m. Please let us know if your child is not to get a pancake.
Vision screening for Junior Infant pupils takes place in the school this Wednesday.
Fifth and Sixth classes will be taking part in the ‘Education Day at Fairyhouse Racecourse’ on Tuesday 19th February. The aim of the day is to educate the younger generations about the business of horse racing and to show them what happens behind the scenes at the races. The children will be leaving the school at 11.00a.m. and returning at 1.45p.m. Please send in €5.00 to cover cost of bus.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the date for this year’s Confirmation has been changed to Sunday 26th May at 1.00p.m.
The school is closed on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th this week due to the mid-term break. School closes at the normal time on Wednesday.
