Football and Hurling Coaching

The children in all classes had their final gaelic football coaching session with Eddie Mc Cormack today. We thank Eddie for his continued commitment to training the children in the skills of gaelic football. His sessions were fun and challenging and we look forward to Eddie returning again next year.

For the next six Tuesdays (starting tomorrow) the children from First to Sixth classes will have hurling coaching during school. This has been organised through Meath Coaching and Games. The hurling sessions will take place in the hall with the children using rubber bossed hurleys. The children will be provided with hurleys and helmets. If your child has a helmet he/she can bring it to school on Tuesdays.

The Solstice

The children in Fifth and Sixth classes are visiting The Solstice in Navan this Tuesday for a workshop with Dave Rudden. This event was cancelled a few weeks ago due to storm Ophelia. The children are going by bus. They are leaving the school at 11.15a.m. and returning at 2.00p.m.

The committee will have its first meeting in the next week or two. We thank everyone on the committee for their positivity and commitment to making the programme a success.

Cake Sale

We collected €428.00 from the Cake Sale before Halloween. We thank everyone who baked cakes/buns and to everyone who bought cakes/buns on the day. The children really enjoyed the event. A huge thanks to Gavin and Ann Marie for donating a table tennis table to the school. The money from the cake sale will now be spent on something else that the children will enjoy and benefit from.

Playground Games

The children from Juniors to Second classes have been enjoying playing with the sandpits and tractors/scooters during break times. We still, however, need a few more tractors/tricycles etc. If you would like to donate some to the school please contact Helen in the office.

Parent/Teacher Meetings

Parent Teacher meeting will take place on Wednesday (22nd) and Thursday (23rd) November. These meetings will give parents/guardians a chance to see how their child is getting on in school i.e. curricular, socially etc. The school will close at 1.15p.m. on these days to facilitate the meetings. Next week we will ask parents/guardians to indicate a suitable day and time for the meetings and we will try to accommodate you if possible.

Book Fair

Our annual Book Fair opens next week on Wednesday (November 15th to Friday 17th) in the school hall. The children will have opportunities to browse and buy books during the week.Parents/guardians are invited to visit the Book Fair at the following times:

8.45a.m. to 9.00a.m. – 1.20p.m. to 2.00p.m. – 2.20p.m. to 3.00p.m. All classes will take part in fun activities during the week. There will be no written homework next week during the Book Fair.

Credit Union

Every Friday a member of the Tara & District Credit Union visits the school. This is an excellent opportunity for the children to save money on a regular

basis. If you would like your child to join the Credit Union please call to the office for an application form.
