A Thuisti,

Easter Egg Hunt

We are hoping to have an Easter Egg Hunt this Friday weather permitting. Due to Covid 19 there will be a few small changes this year. The individual class groupings will each have a separate ‘Hunt’. The Easter Egg Hunt will take place on the field at the back of the school so all children must bring boots or wellingtons to change into at school as the grass is always wet in the morning time. It’s always an exciting day for the children at school and I’m sure they’re looking forward to it!

We haven’t had a lot to cheer about over the last twelve months due to the coronavirus pandemic. We could, however, last Thursday afternoon celebrate the great achievement of Sophie and Cameron’s dad (Gavin in training the winner of the prestigious ‘Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. It’s exceptionally difficult to win any race at Cheltenham but to win a Championship Race is a superb achievement. Well done Gavin. Sophie had a smile on her face on Friday as wide as the Grand Canyon and I’m sure there was great excitement over the weekend when ‘Flooring Porter’ came back to the Cromwell’s stables. The win brought back great memories when ‘Raz De Maree’ was paraded in front of the school a few years after winning the Welsh Grand National. Well done to everyone involved in this success.

First Communion/Confirmation

Due to Covid 19 we haven’t any dates, even provisionally, for the First Communion or Confirmation. It’s all in the hands of the Government and NPHET when restrictions are to be eased. All schools in the country are in the same boat unfortunately. When restrictions are eased and the government gives information about how many people can attend events we will then liaise with Fr. Thomas about the dates for the First Communion and Confirmation. We will then inform parents/guardians.

Board of Management Meeting

There is a Board of Management meeting this evening which will be conducted through ‘Zoom’.

Easter Holidays

The school will be closing at 12 noon on Friday 26th for the Easter Holidays. The children in Junior/Senior will be going home at 11.50a.m. Please note there is no school bus on Friday at home time.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
