A Thuisti,

Welcome Back

A big welcome back to all the children and we hope they have an enjoyable and happy year. A special welcome to our new Junior Infants who started today. They will all settle in their own time. If you have any concerns about your child settling please contact Mrs. Vaughan. The Junior Infants will go home today and tomorrow at 12 noon. From Monday September 2nd they will go home at 1.40p.m.

Ms. Ward joins our teaching staff for the coming year. She will be teaching First and Second classes. I wish Ms. Ward and all the staff an enjoyable and happy year.

Book Rental

A big thanks to Bridget Copeland who organised the Book Rental Scheme again this year. Most families have already collected their books. We ask all the children to take care of these books as many of these books will be used again next year.

Parental Permission Form

We ask parents/guardians for their permission for their children to participate in certain activities. Please read the Parental Permission Form and tick the relevant boxes to return the forms to the office by Monday September 2nd.

Administration of Medicines

All families who have children with medical issues (nut allergies, asthma etc) must return the Administration of Medicines Form by Monday September 2nd which can be downloaded from the school website or from the office (regardless of whether the form was filled out last year) It is vitally important that we are informed of any medical conditions. We are a ‘Nut Free’ school. Our Administration of Medicines Policy is on the school website. (Hard copy available from the office).

School Opening

The school opens at 8.50a.m. The Board of Management accepts no responsibility for children on the school premises before 8.50a.m. If your child arrives after 9.00a.m. then you must ‘Sign In’ our child at reception in the ‘Sign In / Sign Out Book’. No exceptions.

Healthy Lunch

We promote healthy lunches in Rathfeigh N.S. The children aren’t allowed sweets, fizzy drinks, chewing gum, etc. We are a ‘Nut Free’ school as some pupils have life-threatening allergies to nuts. Our Administration of Medicines Policy is on the school website. A hard copy is available from the office.

Jersey Day

To celebrate the All-Ireland Football final we are having a ‘Jersey Day’ tomorrow. The children can wear any jersey of their choice (Skryne, Rathfeigh, Meath, Kerry, Dublin etc). We will have some activities during school to celebrate the day.
