A Thuisti,

Halloween Fancy Dress/Pumpkin Competition

The children are invited to come to school on Friday dressed up in ‘Fancy Dress’. If your child is taking part in the Pumpkin Competition please bring the designed pumpkin to the school hall in the morning for your child as the pumpkins can be very heavy. Please put your child’s name on a piece of paper and put in the pumpkin. At home-time the pumpkins will be on tables outside the front of the school so please collect the pumpkin for your child. We will have small prizes for the ‘best’ three pumpkins in each class.

The school closes at 1.40p.m. for ALL children this Friday. There is a school bus at 1.40p.m.

Healthy lunches are optional on Friday ‘Nut Free’.

Gaelic Football

The girls’ Gaelic Football Team are playing Ballinacree this Thursday in the quarter final of the Under 13 Cumann na mBunscol competition. The game which will take place in Gibstown starts at 12.30p.m.. We will be leaving the school 11.30a.m. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t attend yourself.

Parents’ Association A.G.M.

The recent Parents’ Association A.G.M. which I was invited to was very well attended. A lot of important and relevant topics were discussed. A forward thinking Parents’ Association is vital in every school and Rathfeigh N.S. is no different. I look forward to working with the Parents’ Association over the next year. At the A.G.M. it was agreed that Carolyn will be the Chairperson and we wish her well in the role. A sincere thanks to Ingrid, Damien, Ciarán for putting themselves forward to co-ordinate the Free Government Book Scheme next summer.

School Website

We have uploaded a nice selection of pictures in relation to the ‘Fun Day’ to the school website.

Illnesses

For health and safety reasons please don’t send your child to school if he/she is sick. There is an increasing amount of children being affected with the R.S.V. virus (Respiratory Syncytial Virus).

Halloween Break

We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Halloween. School re-opens after the break on Monday November 6th.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
