18th September,2017.
A Thuisti,
For the next four weeks we are going to provide a team-teaching model of support in Maths to all pupils in First Class. This model of support will involve station teaching using three teachers to work with the children in small groups (Mrs Vaughan, Mrs Mc Auley and Mrs Long). This, however, means that we are unable to provide Literacy Lift Off to second class pupils at this time. We hope to get to them in the last term of this school year.
Ms. O’Rourke starts this week as part-time resource teacher. This term she will work two days a week for four weeks (Tuesdays/Thursdays). She is a shared resource teacher with Skryne and Curraha National Schools. We wish her success in her time in Rathfeigh.
Ms. O’ Brien will be doing Teaching Practice in sixth class from September 18th to October 13th. She will be teaching three to four lessons per day.
The children really enjoyed Jersey Day last Friday. We collected €140.00 which will be used to purchase P.E. equipment. A big thanks to everyone who donated money.
Reminder: Art & Craft (€20.00) and Insurance (€8.00) also The Irish Independent (€12.00 for 5th and 6th class only) is now due. Please send in the money in an envelope as soon as possible.
Our Girls’ Rounders’ Team are playing Dangan this Wednesday (20th September) in Skryne at 12.30p.m. We will be leaving the school at 12.10p.m. If you are unable to give your child a lift to the match please make arrangements with another parent/guardian. We have 18 girls who went training but Cumann na mBunscoil rules only allow 12 girls to be on the panel. All girls who went training can go to the match but unfortunately not all girls will get to play.
Reminder: The Parents’ Association A.G.M. will take place on Tuesday 26th September in the school at 7.30p.m we would like a parent/guardian from each family to attend.
On Monday September 25th the school will close at 1.40p.m. for all pupils to facilitate a staff meeting. There is a school bus at 1.40p.m.
There is a Board of Management meeting the school tonight.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
