A Thuisti,

Covid-19

On February 2nd I e-mailed parents/guardians the following information in relation to Household Close Contacts which we received from the Department of Education and Skills. “If a pupil (under 13 years) is identified as a close contact of a case in their household they will have to restrict their movements as per national guidelines for household close contacts. Asymptomatic household close contacts aged 0-12 years old should restrict their movements for 7 full days. Restricted movement should begin from date of last contact with positive case (if known) or if not, from date of notification as a contact”. This still applies and is necessary for the health and safety of families and staff.

Confirmation

Congratulations to all the sixth class pupils who received their Confirmation last Thursday. It was a special day for the children and I’m sure it was enjoyable and spiritual day for the children and their families and friends. A big thanks to Ms. Reynolds for preparing the children so well and to the Parents’ Association for all their help with food and refreshments in the hall alter the ceremony.

Graduation

The year is flying by and it won’t be long until we say goodbye to our fantastic sixth class pupils. They have been a credit to the school and we hope they enjoy their last few months in Rathfeigh. The Graduation Mass/Ceremony will take place in the school on Wednesday June 22nd at 7.30p.m.

Happy Heart Day

We celebrated Happy Heart Day today in school. Thanks to Teresa for giving of her time to do Gaelic football skills with all classes. We hope the children enjoyed their day.

Cumann na mBunscol Competition

Restrictions in schools have yet to be lifted due to Covid-19 but the Meath Cumann na mBunscol are hopeful that some competitions might get the ‘green light’ after St. Patrick’s Day. If this happens it will be fantastic for the children as they haven’t played in school Gaelic football competitions for two years.

RSE

As part of the Relationship and Sexuality Education programme all classes will be doing lessons in RSE over the next few weeks.

Mid-Term Break

The school will be closed on the 24th and 25th of February for the mid-term break.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
