A Thuisti,
Safer Internet Day
Today is Safer Internet Day. The aim of Safer Internet Day is to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones. The theme this year is ‘Want To Talk About It. Making space for conversations about life online’. Webwise.ie has very good resources for parents/guardians which are well worth reading e.g. digital age of consent, screen time advice for parents, webcam blackmail, false information, phishing etc.
On Monday March 20th Zeeko Education will be visiting the school. Zeeko deliver highly interactive and informative programmes to improve student safety online and with technology. Please log onto Zeeko.ie to find out more information about Zeeko and to download an ‘Internet Safety Guide’
A few families have yet to return the Internet Acceptable Usage Policy forms which were e-mailed to all families of children in 3rd – 6th class. Please return these forms this week.
Badminton
Badminton coaching continues this week for the children in all classes. A few families have yet to pay. Please send in the money (€5.00) in an envelope with your child’s name on it this week.
Gaelic Football Coaching
The children had their fourth Gaelic Football training session today with Liam O’Grady. The children are really enjoying the sessions and we thank Liam for his enthusiasm and commitment in training the children.
School Closure
The school is closed on February 16th and February 17th for the mid-term break.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
