A Thuisti,

Enrolments for September

March 1st is the closing date for receipt of applications for children starting school in September. Please download an Enrolment Form from the school website or collect one from the office.

Pancake Tuesday

We will be celebrating Pancake Tuesday on February 21st. The children in 5th/6th class will be making pancakes for the children in all classes. We will need a few parents/guardians to assist us in making the pancakes. We are a NUT FREE school so we won’t be using toppings that contain nuts. If you don’t want your child to have a pancake please let the class teacher know (note in journal).

Computers

Colm will be returning to the school for four weeks of computer classes with the children in all classes starting on February 22nd. The cost per pupil is €5.00 for four lessons. (Colm is charging €8.00 per child but we are using the money form the Student Council Christmas Raffle to reduce the price to €5.00 per child). Please send in the money in an envelope with your child’s name on it.

Lambing Season

A big thanks to Caren Smyth for bringing in a few lambs to the school today. The excitement among the children was sky high. Thanks Caren.

Mid-Term Break

The school will be closed this Thursday 16th and Friday 17th for the mid-term break.

Science-in –a-Box

The children in 5th/6th class are really enjoying the Science-in-a-Box programme this year. They will have their fourth lesson tomorrow. The ten week programme will be finished in late March. We must commend the children greatly for their enthusiasm, engagement and commitment to the programme during these lessons which I’m sure they’ll greatly benefit from.

Confirmation

There is a practice for the pupils making Confirmation and the choir in Skryne Church tomorrow from 1.20p.m. to 2.20p.m. We will be leaving the school at 1.10p.m. and will need help with lifts. If you cannot bring your own child to the church please arrange a lift with another parent/guardian.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
