A Thuisti,
Girls’ Football Final
The Girls’ Football Final ended in bitter disappointment in Páirc Tailteann on Saturday. It was our first final appearance since 2000 and we travelled to Navan on Saturday with great hope and optimism. After playing with great confidence and determination we lost by the minimum margin. On another day, if decisions went our way, we would have been victorious. However sport can be cruel at times and unfortunately it wasn’t our day! It was my first time seeing the girls play this year and I was so impressed with their skills and athleticism. They displayed great courage and we are exceptionally proud of their fantastic efforts. We thank Ms. Reynolds, Teresa and Ken for all their efforts in getting the team to the final. We thank everyone who supported the team on Saturday and to everyone who made sandwiches and brought food to the school afterwards. Once again our Parents’ Association did a great job in organising food and refreshments in the hall. We thank them for their huge efforts. All children will have no homework tonight.
Parent/Guardian Teacher Meetings
Parent/Guardian Teacher meetings take place this Thursday and Friday. The children have written the times for the meeting in their journal. Please check your child’s journal tonight. If you can’t make the meeting or if the time given to you is unsuitable please contact the class teacher to make alternative arrangements. The school will close at 1.15p.m. this Thursday and Friday to facilitate the meetings. ( Please note there is no school bus at 1.15p.m. on Thursday and Friday).
GDPR Christmas Carol Service etc.
A recording of a child, or children is the collection and storage of data. As with the collection and storage of any data, consent is required. Parents are not required to comply with the Data Protection Act when taking photographs of their children for their own private use, there is no breach of the Act. This changes if the parents subsequently share images of other children in a public forum e.g. Facebook, Website etc. The responsibility is firmly on the person who has captured the images not to share them publicly. Please bear this in mind at our Christmas Carol Service and other school events.
