Dear Parents/Guardians,
Grandparents’ Day
Our inaugural Grandparents’ Day prior to the Easter holidays was a resounding success. The feedback from everyone present was excellent and we are delighted that everyone present had an enjoyable day. A big thanks to all the staff for preparing the children for their performances, to the Parents’ Association for preparing the refreshments and to all the grandparents/relatives for travelling to Rathfeigh for the occasion. The children in all classes were excellent on the day and they deserve huge credit for performing in front of such a large crowd. A special thanks to Ray Beirne for his idea of having a ‘Grandparents Day’ and for all his work behind the scenes. Thanks Ray.
Tag Rugby Blitz
The children in 5th/6th class have a Tag Rugby blitz in Ashbourne Rugby Club this Wednesday (April 15th). This is a follow-on from the rugby sessions they had with Barbara for four weeks prior to Easter. On Wednesday they will be travelling by bus and leaving at 9.40am (approx.) and returning at 12pm (approx.). The cost of the bus is €15 which can be paid via Aladdin or cash in an envelope with your child’s name on it.
Sixth Class Graduation
This is the final term in the school for our 6th class pupils who have been exemplary in their time in Rathfeigh. The 6th class graduation will be held on Thursday June 25th as per Imlitir 1. We wish our 6th class pupils the best of luck as they embark on their remaining few months of their Rathfeigh journey.
First Communion
The pupils in 2nd class will receive their First Communion in Rathfeigh Church at 11am on Saturday May 16th and we wish the children and Mrs Campbell the best of luck in the preparations for the big day.
Student Council
Our Student Council members for the final term are Ava, Sadhbh, Rosie, James O’R and Tomás. We wish them well in their new roles.
School Closures
The school will be closed on May 4th (Monday) and May 5th (Tuesday) as per the school calendar.
Standardised Tests
We will be administering the standardised tests in English, Irish and Maths on May 26th, May 27th and May 28th for the children in 1st to 6th class.
In-Service Day School Closure
The school is closed on Friday May 29th for a teacher in-service training day in Navan Education Centre.
Hot School Meals
Hot School Meals are starting in the school from next Monday 20th April. All parents/guardians need to have their meals ordered by this Wednesday 15th April on the app that Glanmore/Kanpla sent to them. There are two menus under your child’s name, if you could please use the one that is “Hot Lunch” as the “New Hot Lunch” one is not available until mid-May. Also, you need to press recurring for orders to recur weekly. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email or ring the school.
Rounders
The boys’ and girls’ rounders competitions will be starting in a few weeks.
