1st October, 2018.

A Thuisti,

Parents’ Association A.G.M.

The Parents’ Association A.G.M. takes place in the school this Thursday (October 4th) at 8.00p.m. It is very important that at least one member of each household is in attendance. I will be in attendance at this meeting to answer questions relating to the school. I look forward to seeing you all at the meeting.

Credit Union

Every Friday morning a member of Tara & District Credit Union visits the school. This a great opportunity for the children to get into the habit of saving money. We have forms in the office if you would like your child to join the Credit Union.

ACCORD/RSE

Accord facilitors will be delivering the RSE programme to sixth class pupils on Wednesday October 17th. This programme compliments the Social, Personal and Health Education curriculum. Please return the consent form as soon as possible. The RSE policy can be viewed on the school website. A hard copy is available from the office.

Gaelic Football

After winning ten consecutive games the boys’ gaelic football team experienced defeat against Skryne last week. Despite having just 13 players and the whole forward line consisting of pupils from 3rd and 4th classes they played very well and lost out narrowly. I was exceptionally proud of their efforts. They are playing Donore in Skryne this Wednesday at 1.30p.m. We will be leaving the school at 1.10p.m. We will need help with lifts.

The Girls’ football team don’t have a game this week.

Library Visits

Junior and Senior Infant pupils will be visiting Ashbourne Library on Monday October 8th from 11.45a.m.to 12.30p.m. for a workshop with storyteller Sarah Webb. The event is free. The pupils will be travelling by bus. The cost of the bus is €6.00. Please send in money in an envelope.

Third and Fourth classes will be visiting the Solstice Theatre Navan on Friday October 12th from 11.00a.m. to 12noon for a workshop with Andy Griffiths. The cost of the bus is €6.00. Please send in money in an envelope.

Art & Craft/Insurance/ Irish Independent

If you haven’t paid the Art & Craft (€25 per child) or Insurance (€8 per child) please do so this week. The cost of the Irish Independent (33 weeks) for fifth and sixth class is €13.20. Please send in money in an envelope.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
