A Thuisti,
Our school will have a Whole-School Evaluation of Management, Leadership and Learning (WSE –MLL) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (June 3rd, 4th and 6th). I am sending home today a questionnaire from the inspector could you please return the completed questionnaire to the school by Wednesday (28th May). All pupils from 3rd to 6th will fill out a questionnaire in school. The children in 3rd to 6th must fill out the questionnaires with a black pen. The children in Rathfeigh N.S. are always well presented for school and punctuality is very good. We hope that everyone continues to wear the proper school uniform and be lined up in the hall at 9.00a.m. each day.
Over the last few weeks the pupils in 5th and 6th classes have been learning about the history of the ill-fated ‘Titanic’. They constructed models of the Titanic with great imagination and hard work. These models are on display in the corridor and parents are welcome to see these models at any time.
The Boys’ Rounders’ Team have reached the Semi-Finals after defeating Dangan last week. They play Cortown this Thursday at 1.15p.m. in Skryne Football Pitch. We will be leaving the school at 12.50p.m. We wish them the best of luck on Thursday.
The 60th Anniversary of Rathfeigh National School is fast approaching. On Friday June 20th at 7.30p.m. we would like to invite past pupils, teachers, neighbours and friends to the school to celebrate the occasion with us. We are in possession of old roll books back to 1954 and older roll books when Rathfeigh N.S. was located near Rathfeigh Church. We are looking for other interesting memorabilia e.g. photos, copies, books etc. that people would be interested in. If you have something of interest please contact me a soon as possible.
All children in the school have been working very hard over the last few weeks to get our 60th Anniversary book ready. Final drafts/pictures went to the printers last Thursday and we hope to launch the book closer to the 60th Anniversary. We are hoping the children can come up with a title for the book. A few years ago when the school extension was being built we published a poetry book and a child came up with an imaginative title “ An Extension of Poems”. We hope the children can come up with a title again this time.
