A Thuisti,
Literacy Lift Off
The pupils in First class have started the Literacy Lift Off Reading Programme. The children will be taking home books to read on a daily basis. Parents/guardians should ensure that their children read and discuss the books with them.
7-a-side Football
Our boys’ 7-a-side football team performed really well last week in the finals in Dunganny. After defeating Bohermeen they lost out to Kildalkey by a minimum margin. A victory in this game would have secured a place in the semi-finals. It was, however, an outstanding performance by the boys as we were the only school participating to have players from 3rd and 4th classes.
Our girls’ 7-a-side team lost out narrowly in reaching the finals last week. They won two of their three games and played really well. Thanks to Ms. Reynolds and Teresa for training the team.
Science in a Box
The children in 5th and 6th classes will be receiving their certificates on Wednesday for successfully completing the Science in a Box lessons. A big thanks to our science experts Lisa and Clare and of course to Eimear for sponsoring it.
Circus Photography
Sixth class pupils brought home a sheet last Monday from Circus Photography with the password to view the class group photograph online. If you wish to order a copy of this photograph please do so as soon as possible.
Reminder Suzanne from Circus Photography will be in the school on Saturday May 11th to take First Communion photographs. If you wish to have Individual/Family First Communion photographs taken by Circus Photography please contact Suzanne to book a time in order to avoid disappointment.
Vegetable Plot Mc Carron Family
A big thanks to the Mc Carron family for constructing the vegetable patch at the back of the school.
