First Confession
The pupils in Second class will receive their First Confession this Thursday (22nd) in Rathfeigh Church at 7.30p.m. There is a practice this Thursday morning from 9.30a.m. to 10.00a.m. They will be leaving he school at 9.20a.m. If you are unable to give your child a lift please make arrangements with another parent/guardian.
Student Council Easter Raffle
Tickets are on sale this week for a fantastic Easter Egg hamper. The raffle will take place this Friday during school. Tickets cost €3 per strip or €5 for two strips. A big thanks to the Larmer family for donating the fantastic prizes.
Green Schools Committee
The Green Schools Committee are having a meeting tomorrow during school. They will be putting a plan in place for the final term to hopefully run the school in an environmentally conscious way. We will inform you of developments.
I.N.T.O Handwriting Competition
All classes took part in the An Post/Irish National Teachers Organisation handwriting competition last week. The winning entries in each class have been posted to the INTO.
Congratulations to all the class winners.
Football Jerseys
Our new football jerseys sponsored by Copeland Coppersmiths and Tara Developments were delivered last week just in time for the start of the Cumann na mBunscoil gaelic football competitions. All children on the panel will be assigned a numbered jersey , shorts and socks. These must be returned to the school in good condition after each match. All children are responsible for the gear given to them. Lost jerseys etc must be paid for and replaced at the end of the school year by parents/guardians.
Talent Show
We were delighted with the high participation rates in our Talent Show last Friday. We had a great variety of talent on display. Well done to everyone who had the courage and confidence to perform on stage for us.
Swimming
First, Second and Sixth classes have their final swimming session this Thursday.
Third, Fourth and Fifth will start swimming directly after Easter on Monday 9th April for six weeks. The cost per pupil is €36.00. Please send in money in an envelope as soon as possible.
Daffodil Day
This Friday March 23rd is Daffodil Day. We sold a huge amount of daffodil badges last Friday in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. We have just a few remaining now in reception. Thanks to everyone for supporting this great cause.
Girls Football
Our girls gaelic football team are playing Ardcath tomorrow in Skryne at 1.30p.m. They will be leaving the school at 1.10p.m. We will need help with lifts.
Our boys team defeated Ardcath in their first game last week.
Confirmation Choir
We need pupils in Third, Fourth and Fifth classes to sing in the choir at the Confirmation on Sunday 15th April in Skryne Church at 1.00p.m. Please sign the slip below and return it to the school tomorrow confirming whether or not your son/daughter are available to sing in the choir on Confirmation Day.
Easter Holidays
The school will close at 12.00 noon this Friday (March 23rd) for Easter Holidays and will re-open on Monday April 9th. ( There is a school bus on Friday at 12 noon).
