A Thuisti,
Céilí
Over the next few days the boys and girls in all classes will be practising dances for our annual céilí which will take place in the school hall on Thursday (14th) from 11.00a.m. to 12 noon. Thursday is a non-uniform day and we hope the children will wear a combination of green, white and orange colours. We would like to invite parents/guardians to the hall to see the céilí and hopefully join in! Hope to see you all on Thursday.
School Closures
The school will close at 1.40p.m. on Thursday for all classes. There is no school bus at 1.40p.m. The school is closed on Friday (15th) and Monday (18th) March.
Confession
Well done to our second class pupils who received their second sacrament, First Confession, last week. Thanks to Ms. Reynolds for preparing the children so well.
7-side-Football
Our 7-a-side boys gaelic football are through to the Meath Finals after beating Skryne and Cannistown and drawing with Kilmessan. It was a fantastic performance especially when competing against much larger schools. The finals will take place in Dunganny on Wednesday March 20th.
Literacy Lift Off
The second class pupils have completed five weeks of Literacy Lift Off. Mrs Campbell will be giving feedback to parents/guardians in the coming weeks. First class pupils will be starting Literacy Lift Off this week.
Intermational Womens’ Day
Last Friday was International Women’s Day. The children in 3rd – 6th did lessons on Women’s rights etc. It was great to see both boys and girls question and challenge stereotypes. It is important for us as parents/guardians and teachers to educate our children about gender equality issues and to continue to strive for a more inclusive world.
Attendance/January
The attendance rate for February was 97%.
