Our Under 11 quiz team are Meath Champions after a fantastic victory last Friday. They are now through to the All-Ireland Final in a few weeks. It is an amazing achievement for a small school and we are so proud of their efforts. We wish Anna, Billy, Conor and Bryn the best of luck in the final. We hope their victory will inspire other children to take part in quizzes in the future. All children in the school will have no homework tonight to mark the great achievement. A big thanks to Mrs Vaughan for preparing the children so well.
There is a “School Attendance Strategy” forum for parents/guardians tomorrow in the school from 2.40p.m. to 3.10p.m.
Our Sixth class pupils did a great job last Tuesday making pancakes for the whole school. It was a big undertaking and we thank them for their great efforts. A special thanks to Marlene and Jenny for giving their time to help the children make the pancakes.
Last Friday was a non-uniform day to raise money for Aoghán Mc Connell for his trip to Ghana. We thank everyone who donated money. We collected €234.00. We wish Aoghán the best of luck in his journey and look forward to hearing of his experiences on his return from Ghana.
Our Boys (13 a side) team beat Moynalvey last week in their first gaelic football game while our Girls’ (11 a side) team lost narrowly to Moynalvey. Both teams will have their second game in late March. The 7-a-side competition for Girls and Boys takes place next week.
All classes from Junior to Sixth will have gaelic football training during school with Eddie Mc Cormack for the next five Tuesdays starting tomorrow. All children must wear their tracksuits. This will form part of the P.E. programme.
There is a Board of Management meeting tonight in the school.
