Happy New Year

The children returned to school on Thursday and have settled back well after the Christmas holidays. We wish everyone in the Rathfeigh school community a happy, healthy and safe 2023.

Enrolment for 2023/24

We are currently accepting applications from parents/guardians of children starting in September 2023. If your child is starting school in September please send in an enrolment form as soon as possible. If you know parents/guardians who have children starting school in September please let them know that the closing date for receipt of applications is February 1st. Prospective parents/guardians can e-mail the school to make an appointment to visit the school.

Credit Union Quiz

The Tara and District Credit Union Table Quiz returns this year after a two year absence due to Covid-19. The quiz will take place in Skryne school hall on Monday January 30th at 6.30pm. Mrs. Vaughan will be co-ordinating the Rathfeigh teams. She will be entering a few Under 13 and Under 11 teams from Rathfeigh for the table quiz. There will be a quiz in school tomorrow for the children in 3rd-6th class to see who gets on the various Under 11 and Under 13 teams. To be eligible to get on the Under 11 team a child must be 10 or younger on December 31st 2022. To be eligible for the Under 13 team a child must be 12 or younger on December 31st 2022.

GAA Training

All classes will have Gaelic Football training during school for seven weeks starting on Tuesday January 17th. Liam O’Grady will be training the children as part of the Meath GAA training initiative.

Student Council Christmas Draw

Our student council members Cathal, Leila, Hayley and Donncha did a great job organising our Christmas Hamper Raffle. The winners of the hampers were Ada and Jane. Congratulations to them both.

The following children won smaller prizes of books, selection boxes, pencil cases etc – Peter, James, Saidhbhín, Noah, Eilín, Nevaeh, Elliott, Kai, Beatrice, Joe, Mya, Leila, Cian R, Ella, Sophie C, Eoin, Donncha, Eve and Rosie. Well done to them all.
