Later in the week when we have all the ‘slips’ back the children will be given the day/time of their parent/teacher meeting and they will write it in their school journal. Please check your child’s journal. The school will close at 1.15p.m. on both days.
There is no school bus at 1.15p.m.
Boys’ and Girls’ Rounders Finals
Our Boys’ Rounders’ Team are Meath Champions. They defeated Cortown in an extremely tense and dramatic game. The game started in cold and wet conditions at 3.30p.m. and finished in even colder and wetter conditions at 5.45p.m. under floodlights. In the two and a quarter game the children displayed all the qualities needed to win a final – skill, courage, resolve, bravery and determination. Their focus and concentration under the extreme conditions was exemplary. We are really proud of their efforts and they represented themselves, their families and the school really well. Well done boys.
Our Girls’Rounders’ Team , unfortunately, lost in the final to Oristown. Despite the loss and not getting any luck on the day they fought gallantly to the end. In a very entertaining game they just came up short losing 20 – 14. Despite the disappointment the girls were very gracious in defeat and they, also, can be extremely proud of their efforts this year having won four games to get to the final. Well done Girls. A special thanks to Teresa for helping out with training during the year and for the many training sessions during the Halloween break. It was really appreciated by everyone.
Boys’7-a-side Final
Our Boys’ 7-a-side gaelic football team are through to the Meath Finals this Tuesday in Dunganny. They played very well last Tuesday defeating Gael Scoil na Rithe, Curragha and Kentstown. The final takes place in Dunganny tomorrow at 3.15p.m. We will be leaving the school at 2.25p.m. We wish them the best of luck in the final.
Our Girls’ 7-a-side team narrowly missed out on reaching the finals. They lost to Skryne in the deciding match but played really well on the day. A big thanks to Ms. O’Donoghue for training the girls with help also from Teresa.

School Jerseys/Sponsorship
The boys and girls have been using the same school jerseys for the last six or seven years. The jerseys have been the boys and girls. Ideally, we should have separate boys and girls school jerseys. I am, therefore, hoping that some local business etc would be willing to sponsor the school jerseys. Please contact the school if you might be able to help us on this matter.
There is a Board of Management meeting in the school tonight.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
