1st February, 2016.

A Thuisti,

We have five teams representing the school tonight in the Tara & District Credit Union Quiz. The quiz starts at 6.30p.m. The children must register beforehand and be seated at 6.20p.m. We wish the teams and Mrs Vaughan the best of luck tonight.

The final Gaelic football coaching session takes place tomorrow in school. We would like to thank Eddie Mc Cormack for training the children for the past few weeks and for making the sessions so enjoyable for the children.

All classes from First to Sixth will be starting the RSE Programme this week. This programme is taught in alternate years with the Stay Safe Programme. We will have the following class groupings for the programme.

Junior/Seniors – Senior Infants Programme

First/Second – Second Class Programme

Third/Fourth – Fourth Class Programme

Fifth/Sixth – Sixth Class Programme

Each class will be taught nine themes over the next few weeks. Please find attached information on the RSE Programme. The RSE Policy is on the school website. A hard copy of the policy is available on request from the office.

Tuesday February 9th is Shrove Tuesday. We have a tradition in the school of sixth class pupils making pancakes for all pupils in the school. We need a number of parents to help out on Pancake Tuesday from 9.15a.m. to 10.30a.m. We will not be using any spreads containing nuts because of nut allergies. Please let us know if your child is not to get a pancake.

On Wednesday February 10th the school will close at 1.40p.m. for all classes to facilitate a staff meeting. Please note there is no school bus.

Next week is Enrolment Week. If you wish to enrol your child for 2016/17 school year please call in to the office and fill out the relevant forms. Please bring your child’s birth certificate.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.

Priomh Oide.
