A Thuisti,
We had a lovely ceremony in the school on Friday to commemorate the Easter Rising in 1916. The beautiful singing and the tunes played on the tin whistle greatly enhanced the ceremony. I would like to thank all the teachers for preparing the children so well and for making it such a memorable occasion. A special thanks to Laura O’Keane who helped with the preparation of songs for the ceremony and to Peter Lynch for taking photographs on the day. Peter’s photographs will be on the school website in the next week or so. I would like to thank the Parents’ Association for preparing the tea and coffee afterwards and it was really appreciated by everyone in attendance. Of course the biggest thanks goes to the children. I was extremely proud of their efforts. Their attentiveness and respectfulness during the ceremony was exemplary.
Parent Teacher Meetings take place this Thursday 10th and Friday 11th December. School closes at 1.15p.m. on both of these days. There is a school bus at 1.15p.m. The children have the times for the meetings written in their journal. Please check your child’s journal today.
The final swimming lesson for Fourth, Fifth and Sixth classes takes place this Wednesday. First, Second and Third classes will be starting lessons on January 13th for six weeks.
There is Credit Union in the school on Friday.
There are some Folens Christmas Annuals still available from the office for €4.00.
