A Thuisiti,
Halloween Fancy Dress
Our Halloween Fancy Dress is definitely one of the highlights of the school year for the children. We have this tradition in the school going back more than twenty years. We would like to invite parents/guardians to the school this Friday from 9.15 to 10.00a.m. for our Fancy Dress at which each class will do a performance on stage (poem/song). Later in the day we will be judging, the Pumpkin Competition with small prizes for the ‘best’ pumpkins in each class. The children should design and decorate their pumpkins at home this week with the carving of the pumpkins done by an adult!!. The children will bring in their pumpkins to school on Friday morning with their name on a piece of paper inside or under the pumpkin. Before home time we will have a mini Halloween disco in the hall for the children. Healthy lunches are optional. All children will go home at 1.40p.m. We hope all the children have a ‘Spooktacular’ and ‘UnBOOlievable’ Friday in school!
Parents’ Association A.G.M.
The annual Parents’ Association A.G.M. takes place tonight in the school at 8.00p.m. Refreshments will be served at 7.45p.m. We have a vibrant and active Parents’ Association who work tirelessly for the benefit of our school and the children. It would be great if a member of each household was in attendance. I have been kindly invited to attend tonight’s meeting at which I will answer any questions you might have in relation to the school.
Gaelic Football
Our boys and girls football team are through to the knock-out stages. Both our teams are undefeated so far this year. There is a Cumann na mBunscol meeting tomorrow night at which the dates and venues of quarter finals and semi-finals will be decided. There is a possibility that both our teams could be playing Wednesday or Thursday. I will text parents/guardians Tuesday night after the meeting if that is the case.
Student Council
Our student council will be helping us to decorate the hall for Friday and will also help us in deciding the songs to be played at the disco. We thank them for their enthusiasm. The current student council will operate until Christmas.
Lost Property
We have a lot of items in our Lost Property box e.g. coats, hats, gloves. If your child is missing any of the above please come into the school and check if it’s here.We will be disposing of all items after the mid-term break.
Midterm Break
The school will close this Friday at 1.40p.m. for all children.
There is no school bus at 1.40p.m. The school will re-open after the mid-term break on Monday November 4th. On behalf of the Staff and Board of Management we would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Halloween.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
