Meath County Council Book Festival

The pupils in Third and Fourth classes will be travelling to Navan Library this Wednesday to take part in a Children’s Book Quiz. We are travelling by bus. We are leaving the school at 10.45a.m. approx and returning to the school at 1.15p.m. approx. I need a parent/guardian to come on the trip to the Library. Please let me know tomorrow if you can come. The cost of the bus is €5.00. Please send in the money in an envelope as soon as possible.

Junior and Senior Infants are travelling to Ashbourne Library this Thursday to listen to the author Tatanya Feeney. We are travelling by bus (€5) We will be leaving the school at 10.30p.m. approx. and returning to the school at 12.30p.m. approx.

Yoga and Computer classes

Yoga classes during school continues for two more Wednesdays and Computer classes continue on Thursdays. We are getting great positive feedback from the children and they are really enjoying the lessons.

Boys Football

Our boys’ football team have won their first four matches this year and are playing really well. They are playing in Cushinstown National School tomorrow at 2.00p.m. We are leaving the school at 1.30p.m. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t attend yourself.

Football Training

Gaelic football training with Damien Sheridan continues on Mondays for all classes as does football training with Teresa on Wednesdays. As these training sessions will be held on the ballcourt or hall there is no need for children to bring football gear or boots.

Mental Health Awareness Week

This is Mental Health Awareness Week and Thursday is World Mental Health Day. We will be doing a number of activities during the week to promote our

mental health and wellbeing. Mental Health Ireland have five ways to Wellbeing. They are:

1. Connect

2. Be Active

3. Take Notice

4. Keep Learning

5. Give

As parents/guardians we need to be mindful of our children’s mental health wellbeing whilst also being mindful of our own wellbeing.

Credit Union Art Competition

Mrs Campbell has posted all the Credit Union Art entries today. We wish all the children the best of luck in the competition.

Irish Independent

Fifth and Sixth class pupils are getting the Irish Independent with the Irish and Science supplement. If you haven’t paid for the newspaper please send in €16.50 in an envelope as soon as possible.
