Administration of Medicines
We are updating our records on Administration of Medicines. Please fill in and return the attached form by Wednesday April 3rd. We request that a form is returned for every child in the school regardless of whether they have medical conditions/allergies etc.
Science in a Box
The children in 5th/6th received their certificates last Wednesday for completing the Science in a Box Programme. Congratulations to Amy and Faith for winning prizes for their projects and to Aoibheann and Danny for ‘best participation’ during the lessons. Thanks to Clare and Lisa for teaching the lessons and to Eimear for sponsoring the programme. I am delighted that Eimear will be sponsoring it again next year with 5th and 6th class pupils studying Biology.
Community Games
Congratulations to all the children who participated in the Community Games Art and Handwriting competitions a few weeks ago. Well done to all the children that won prizes Áine, Freddy, Lucy Callaghan, Leila, Eve, Bowie, Brooke and Harris.
Vegetable Patch
Thanks to Mary Mc Carron who came into the school for three hours last Friday to plant various seeds in the vegetable patch at the rear of the school. The children really enjoyed working with her and we look forward to seeing a variety of plants growing over the next few months.
School Uniform
On warm days the children may wear plain navy shorts (not grey). Football shorts or shorts with logos are not allowed.
Standardised Tests
The children in First to Sixth classes will be doing standardised tests in Maths, English and Irish in the week starting Monday May 20th.
‘School Book’
A number of years ago the children in all classes wrote about their memories in Rathfeigh school. This book was published and it was of excellent standard. Between now and Easter we will be doing something similar and we hope to publish it after Easter. The cost of each book will be €10 approximately.
Attendance/March
The attendance rate for March was 95%.
