A Thuisti,

Friendship Week

This week we will be celebrating and promoting friendships in the school. We will be emphasising the importance of respect and politeness for all children. We will be having an assembly this week to discuss the issues around friendships (anti-bullying, respect, tolerance etc).

Administration of Medicines

All pupils were given an Administration of Medicines form last week. These forms must be filled out by all parents/guardians regardless of whether your child has medical issues or not. If you haven’t already returned the form please send it in tomorrow.

Supporting Parents/Supporting Children

The National Parents Council are currently offering training programmes for parents/guardians of primary school children. The courses include internet safety, anti-bullying, transition from primary to post-primary school, developing healthy friendships etc. All the courses focus on the key message of the important role that parents/guardians can have in support of and in partnership with teachers in the school. Further information can be found on www.npc.ie/training-and-resources.

Swimming

Today was the last swimming session for the children in 4th, 5th and 6th classes. The children in 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be swimming on Tuesdays after Easter  starting on Tuesday 30th April. The cost per pupil is €40.00. We are looking for some parents/guardians of children in these classes to help out at the pool. Garda vetting  forms must be completed. These forms should be collected from the office tomorrow.

Hurling

Today was the final hurling training session in the school. We would like to thank Aileen for training the children in all classes for the last few months.

Easter Egg Hunt

We will be having an Easter Egg hunt on the field this Friday. Please let the class teacher know if your child is not to get an egg!

School starts each morning at 9.00a.m. Children should be in their class lines in the school hall before 9.00a.m. If  your child arrives to school after 9.00a.m. you must sign them in at reception please.

Easter Holidays

The school will close at 12.00 noon this Friday April 12th for all children. There is no school bus at 12.00. We hope everyone has an enjoyable, restful and safe Easter. The school will re-open on Monday April 29th.
