Mindfulness Lessons

Mindfulness lessons for the pupils in 3rd-6th class continue this Thursday. The feedback from the teachers and pupils has been excellent.

Library Visit

The pupils in 5th/6th class visited Dunshaughlin Library yesterday as part of the Meath Book Festival. A big thanks to Cathy who gave up her time to supervise the children with Mrs Kennedy. The cost of the bus was €10 per pupil which can be paid via the Aladdin link.

Halloween Fancy Dress/Pumpkin Competition

As the school will be closed on October 24th for the Presidential Election we will have our Halloween Fancy Dress on Thursday October 23rd. On that day the children are invited to come to school ‘dressed up’ in Fancy Dress. We will also have our annual Pumpkin Competition. The children are invited (with some help from parents/guardians) to design a pumpkin at home and bring it to school on the morning of Thursday October 23rd. There will be a small prize for the ‘best’ three pumpkins in each class.

There is no obligation for children to take part in the pumpkin competition or come to school in ‘Fancy Dress’.

Attendances

The Attendance figure for September was 96.2%. Well done to everyone. Of course, if your child has flu symptoms he/she should not be sent to school!

Deposit Return Scheme

The amount collected so far this school year is €133.65. A big thanks to everyone who has sent in bottles/cans and to all the families who have returned the bottles/cans. We will continue working through the rota in 5th/6th class.

Tin Whistle

The pupils in 1st-6th class will be learning the tin whistle after Halloween. The cost of the Tin Whistle Book is €10 but will be offset from the proceeds of last years’ Jumble Sale – so no cost for parents/guardians. We will let parents/guardians know the cost of tin whistles next week. If your child has a D tin whistle he/she should bring it to school and we can put your childs’ name on it.

Is Mise,

Seamus Tansley
