A Thuisti,
Zeeko Academy – Workshops for Children/Parental Seminar
We are delighted to have the Zeeko Academy visit our school this Wednesday (20th). The children in all classes from 2nd to 6th will have workshops during school. The topics will include cyberbullying, inappropriate content, social media, stranger danger and data privacy.
A considerable amount of children in primary schools have mobile phones and with Christmas approaching many more will get them as presents. Parents/Guardians should have the knowledge and tools to protect their children online. As parents/guardians we need to know how long our children are online daily. Do we monitor their use of technology? Do we talk to our children about their internet usage? We all need to be more aware of the potential dangers when using Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc. What are the minimum ages for using them? I strongly recommend that parents/guardians of children in all classes attend the Parents Internet Safety Seminar which will be held in the school this Wednesday evening at 7.00p.m. Please find attached the flyer for this event. We thank the Parents’ Association who have generously decided to pay for this event.
Christmas Carol Service/Raffle
Our Christmas Carol Service takes place this Friday in the school hall at 11.00a.m. sharp. Friday is a non-uniform day children can wear colourful clothes e.g.(Christmas jumper/ top) and a santa hat. At 10.30a.m. parents/guardians are invited to the school for a pre-performance tea/coffee and mince pies in the servery area. A big thanks to our Parents’ Association for organising same. The Christmas Raffle will take place at 11.30p.m. Please return all sold raffle tickets tomorrow. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The school closes at 12.00 noon on Friday for all pupils. There is no school bus at 12.00. We will return in 2018 on Monday January 8th. I would like to wish all the pupils, staff , parents/guardians and friends a happy and safe Christmas and a peaceful New Year. Thanks to everyone for their support, encouragement and generosity throughout 2017.
Is mise,
