A Thuisti,

Halloween Fancy Dress/Pumpkin Competition

The Halloween Fancy Dress and Pumpkin Competitions are one of the highlights of the school year for the children. We encourage all the children to dress up in their favourite spooky characters. This year the pumpkins made by the children at home will be brought into the school hall in the morning. For the younger children and children who have heavy pumpkins parents/guardians must bring the pumpkins into the hall. We will have a one-way system in operation. We will have a small prize for the top three pumpkins in each class. The school will close at 1.40pm for all children.

Cash for Clobber

Our Parents’ Association fundraiser is up and running. The PA have done a great job advertising the event. The large poster on the ball-court gives details of the days and times to drop bags of clothes etc to the school. We hope it’s a great success again this year. The PA are also running the Guess the Weight of the Clobber competition. On Thursday Helen will give all the children a form giving details of the competition. The children bring in their money and card on November 1st. There is a hamper for the closest guess. Best of luck everyone.

Maths Week

This week we will be celebrating Maths Week. Over the course of the week the children will be engaging in fun maths activities in class. Please log on to  mathsweek.ie for games, puzzles and resources.

Computer Classes

The children thoroughly enjoyed last week’s computer classes with Colm. The classes will continue this Wednesday and for two Wednesday’s after Halloween. A small number of families have yet to pay so please do so by this Wednesday 20th October. The cost is 7 Euor. Please put the money in an envelope with your child’s name on it.

Girls Gaelic Football Training

Ms.Reynolds will be doing Gaelic Football training this Thursday during school with girls in 3rd-6th class.

Damien Sheridan

Damien is with us again this Wednesday for Gaelic Football for all classes. He will be returning after Halloween also for a few weeks.

The school will close at 1.40pm this Friday for the mid-term break. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Halloween. The school will re-open after the break on Monday November 1st.

Is mise,
