Imlitir 7 5th November, 2012.
A Thuisti,
Welcome back after the Halloween break. We have a very busy term ahead and I ask parents to continue helping and encouraging your children to do their very best in school.
We have our annual Book Fair in the school hall from Wednesday (November 7th) until Monday (November 12th). Parents will be able to visit the fair from 8.45a.m. – 9.30a.m. 1.30p.m. – 2.00p.m. and 2.30p.m. – 3.00p.m. If there are any parents who are able to help out taking orders at those times please let Helen know. Reading is one of the most important skills that any child can have and the Book Fair gives the children an opportunity to read a variety of stimulating and interesting books. We are having an assembly this Friday (November 9th). We want the children to bring their favourite books to the assembly and to dress up as their favourite character from that book.
Swimming for 4th, 5th and 6th classes starts this Wednesday (November 7th) in Navan Swimming Pool. This will form part of the P.E. curriculum for the next five weeks. The cost is €25.00 per pupil. Please send in money (in an envelope) as soon as possible. The bus will be leaving the school at 9.20 a.m. Children need to bring swimming caps. We need parents to help with supervision. There is space for two parents to travel on the bus. Please return the slip below if you are available to help with supervision. Thanks for your co-operation.
We have our final gaelic football coaching for all classes this Thursday. Please remind the children to wear their tracksuits and runners.
All classes from first to sixth will be commencing tin whistle as part of the music curriculum (starting next Monday). We are negotiating a better price for the tin whistles and workbooks and will keep you updated regarding same.
Credit Union will commence on Friday 9th November a parent comes into the school every Friday and on behalf of the credit union takes lodgements from pupils who wish to save with Tara and District Credit Union. Application forms are available from the school office and pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth may join. New members welcome.
