A Thuisti,

Breda Lenehan who has been our Special Needs Assistant for over four years finishes this Friday. Breda has done a fantastic job in her time in Rathfeigh and we are all disappointed that she is leaving. On behalf of all the staff and Board of Management I would like to take this opportunity to thank Breda for her professionalism, commitment and dedication to her job. I wish Breda the best of luck for the future.

The end of year graduation Mass for sixth class pupils is on Wednesday night at 7.30p.m. The eight years spent in Rathfeigh have flown by for the pupils. We wish them all the very best of luck for the future.

Under the Education (Welfare) Act 2000 schools are obliged to report to the National Educational Welfare Board all pupils who are absent from school for a cumulative total of twenty days or more. I will inform you by letter if your child has been absent for twenty days or more.

Our ‘Great Oaks From Little Acorns Grow’ art project is progressing really well. Róisín is doing a fantastic job and she hopes to be finished by Thursday. We hope to have an unveiling of the project later this week. We will let parents/guardians know the day and time by text.

Laura O’Keane’s music workshop was very educational and thoroughly enjoyed by all the children. We thank her for making the workshop so enjoyable.

We have a skipping workshop in the school this Wednesday. The cost is €3.00 per child. If you haven’t already paid please send in the money in an envelope. This will form part of the P.E. Curriculum.

Fifth and Sixth classes are walking to Rathfeigh Church tomorrow via Halligan’s lane.

The pupils in third and fourth are visiting the Hill of Tara tomorrow morning. We are leaving the school at 9.45 and returning at 11.15. We will need help with lifts.

Reminder: If you haven’t already paid for copies, folders, journal for next year please send in money tomorrow. Book Rental deposits are due today.

The school closes for summer holidays this Friday at 12 noon and re-opens on Friday August 28th. There is a school bus on Friday. I would like to wish everyone a happy, safe and enjoyable summer holidays.
