A Thuisti,
Jumble Sale
Our Sixth class (with help from 5th) did an amazing job organising and running our jumble sale last Friday. They showed great maturity and were exceptionally helpful to the younger children. We collected €545 which will go towards the purchase of P.E. equipment.
School Reports
School reports were posted out to parents/guardians last Thursday. If you haven’t received a report please contact the school.
The Drumcondra Reading Test which was administered to pupils in First class is intended mainly as a tool to identify pupils at risk of difficulties in reading, rather than to provide a nuanced picture of strengths and weaknesses across all aspects of reading. In this test the raw scores are converted into criterion-referenced descriptors such as ‘Criterion reached’, ‘Approaching criterion’ and ‘Criterion not reached’. These descriptors were given in school reports for First class pupils. If you would like to discuss this aspect of the school report please make an appointment with Ms. Reynolds.
Art Project
Parents/guardians are invited to the school tomorrow at 1.15p.m. for the unveiling of Roisín’s ‘Map of Meath’ art project. It is an exceptionally striking piece of art and we hope everyone can attend the unveiling.
Rounders Final
Our girls’ rounders’ team lost narrowly to Oristown in the Meath Final last week. They showed great determination and lost nothing in defeat. Their sportsmanship after the game was exemplary. We will be presenting all the girls on the panel with their medals later in the week. Teresa did a fantastic job training the girls and we thank her for her dedication and commitment to our Rathfeigh teams. All the girls must return their jersey, shorts and socks tomorrow. Items not returned must be paid for by the girls themselves.
‘I remember when’
Over the last month the children have been writing and drawing pictures of their memories to date in Rathfeigh school. All 102 pupils have, contributed to our book entitled’I remembered when’. We have ordered 75 books. The cost per book is €10. Until Friday only one book per family can be purcheased. Books that remain unsold by Monday 24th June can be purchased for relatives etc. So as not to be disappointed please send in €10 in an envelope before this Friday June 17th.
Sports Day
We are having our annual sports day tomorrow. The children have been assigned their team colours. The school will close for all pupils at 1.40p.m. Please note there is no school bus at 1.40 p.m.
