Dear Parents/Guardians,

First Communion

The children in second class will be receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion this Saturday at 11am in Rathfeigh Church and we wish them well in their preparation for their big day.

Practice Mass Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th May in Rathfeigh Church. Could you please arrange for your child to be collected from Rathfeigh NS @ 9.10am & dropped to Rathfeigh Church then to be picked up from Rathfeigh Church @ 10.20 & dropped back to school. Any child in the choir is also going to be attending practice mass on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Saturday, after the First Communion, all children and their parents/guardians are invited back to the school for some light refreshments. We thank the Parents’ Association for all their great work in organising this for the children.

Well-being/Mindfulness

Thanks to all parents/guardians who completed the Well-being questionnaires a few weeks ago as part of our ‘evidence gathering’ towards the creation of a School Self-Evaluation Report in Well-being. The children in 3rd/4th class have a free ‘Well-being/Mindfulness’ lesson on Thursday in school as art of a ‘Creative Mindfulness Well-being Programme’ initiative by a fully accredited Mindfulness Practitioner, we hope they enjoy it.

Girls’ Rounders’

Our Girls’ Rounders’ team are playing Coole N.S. this Friday at Skryne GAA pitch at 11.30am. We will be leaving the school at 11.05am. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t attend yourself. We wish the girls the best of luck Friday.

Despite not being victorious last week our boys’ team had a very enjoyable rounders’ game against Kiltale with all the boys on the panel from 3rd to 6th class getting to play the full game. The game was played in glorious sunshine with great sportsmanship on display by both teams. Well done to them all.

Bí Cineálta Anti-Bullying Questionnaires

Thanks to everyone who completed the ‘Bí Cineálta’ questionnaire. If you have not completed the questionnaire yet could you please complete it by Friday 9th May. All the feedback from these questionnaires will be beneficial to us in drafting the policy.

School Supplies

Last week a parent donated a huge amount to school supplies to the school – copies, pencils, notebooks etc. We are overwhelmed by this generosity which will greatly benefit the children. Last week all the children in 1st-6th class received a free Maths Set from these supplies which they were delighted with. Our Student Council will organise the supplies this week and distribute some of them to the children.

New Junior Infants

The new Junior Infants starting in September 2025 and their parents/guardians are invited to the school on Wednesday June 4th at 1.15pm.
