Dear Parents/Guardians,

Girls’ Football

Our Girls’ Gaelic Football team are playing in Castletown this Thursday at 1pm – we will be leaving the school at 12.10pm. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t attend yourself.

Secondary Schools

This is an important year for sixth class pupils as they will be deciding which secondary school they will be going to next year. Parents/Guardians should contact the secondary schools in the area that their children might be attending next year so as to get information about open-nights and application closing dates. I strongly advise all parents/guardians to contact the secondary schools immediately as many secondary schools do not contact us with this information. Many open nights take place as early as September or October. If we receive information from secondary schools about open-nights we will pass it on the parents/guardians. The school, however, doesn’t contact schools for this information.

Swimming

The children in 3rd-6th class have their first swimming lesson on Tuesday September 16th at the earlier time of 10am – the bus will be leaving the school at 9.20am. The cost per pupil for the six weeks swimming lessons and bus is €60. The cost of lessons has been reduced due to the generous donation of €500 from the Parents’ Association.

GAA Coach

Caroline (GAA coach) will be returning to the school again this year to teach the children in all classes the skills of gaelic football. She starts this Friday 12th September and will continue until Halloween.

RST Newsletter

I e-mailed the September edition of the RST Newsletter to parents/guardians over the weekend. If you didn’t receive it please contact the school.

Art & Craft, Insurance and Homework Journal

We will be sending the parents/guardians a link this week for payment for art & craft, insurance and homework journal. If you are sending in cash to the school please put it in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it.

Additional School Closure

The Presidential Election takes place on October 24th (Friday). As a result, the school will be closed on that day. Our Halloween celebrations will now take place on Thursday October 23rd.

Is Mise,

Seamus Tansley
