A Thuisti,
Roald Dahl Story Day
Today is Roald Dahl Story Day. Roald Dahl is famous the world over for being one of the best children’s authors of all time. The list of books he has written are too many to mention. We all have our favourite Roald Dahl books and characters and the children are no different. We are delighted to see many children today coming to school dressed as their favourite character from a Roald Dahl book. To celebrate the day the children have no written homework tonight.
First Communion and First Confession
The children in Third class will be receiving their First Confession and First Communion in Rathfeigh Church on Saturday October 9th at 11.00a.m. It will be held indoors with a maximum of one hundred in attendance. These numbers must be strictly adhered to. I know the children are excited and eagerly looking forward to receiving the two sacraments and we look forward to the preparations over the next few weeks.
Art & Craft/Insurance/Copies
Last week we sent all families the link to pay for the above items online. If you do not wish to pay online you can pay by cheque or cash. Please put it in an envelope with your child’s name on it.
Gaelic Football
The Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football competition which would usually take place in September/October won’t be happening until later in the year due to Covid-19. We will keep you updated in relation to this.
Board of Management
There is a Board of Management meeting this evening.
After-School Activities
The children have been fortunate to have access to a wide range of after-school activities in Rathfeigh down through the years – Irish Dancing, Speech & Drama, Basketball and Gymnastics. In the next few weeks the following should be up and running – Irish Dancing (Audrey), Speech & Drama (Kate) and Gymnastics (Akash) The activities are very beneficial for the children but will only take place if there is sufficient interest from families. If you would like to run an after-school activity or if you know somebody who is interested in running an activity please let us know. The rates to hire the school hall are very competitive and are far cheaper than in other venues.
All Ireland
Congratulations to all the families with Tyrone connections on Saturday’s All-Ireland Final victory over Mayo. Commiserations to all those supporting Mayo – the wait goes on!
Return to School Declaration Form
If your child is absent from school for any reason we ask you to please fill in the Return to School Declaration Form which is on the school website.
