Dear Parents/Guardians
Swimming
The children in 3rd to 6th class will be going swimming in Navan Swimming Pool for six weeks starting on September 16th. They will be travelling by bus – leaving the school at 9.50am (approx.) and returning to the school at 12 Noon (approx.). The cost of the lessons including the bus is €70.00
Parental Permission Form/Consent Form
The children were given Parental Permission and Consent Forms last week. Please fill out and return these forms by Friday 5th September.
Administration of Medicines
All families who have children with medical issues (nut allergies, asthma etc) must return the Administration of Medicines Form by September 5th. This form must be returned regardless of whether the form was filled out last year.
Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football Competitions
The Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football competitions for boys and girls commence next week. All boys in 3rd-6th class have the option of participating while all girls in 3rd-6th class have the option of playing. We will inform parents/guardians each week via Aladdin when we get details of the days/times of matches.
Deposit Return Scheme
We introduced the Deposit Return Scheme to the school last year. Children brought in bottles/cans with the ‘R’ logo and at the end of each week we returned the bottles/cans for cash. We bought board games for each class and the Christmas Annuals for the children with the proceeds of the money received. I will be consulting with the Student Council and the Parents’ Association regarding how we will spend the money this year. If you have any bottles/cans that you would like to donate to the school please bring them into us. To ensure the smoother running of the scheme this year we will be picking a child’s name at random each week (starting with 6th class) and that child’s family will return the bottles at the end of that week. Each family will only be required to return the bottles once annually.
Student Council
The following pupils will be on the Student Council from now until Halloween and we wish them well in their roles – Sophie (6th), Patrick (5th), Kai (4th) and Flora (3rd).
After-School Activities
If you are interested in doing an after-school activity this year or you know someone who is interested in doing one please contact Jennifer in the office for dates/days that we have available.
