A Thuisti,
Literacy Lift Off finishes for First Class pupils this week. A big thanks to all the parents who helped with the Literacy Lift Off lessons. We hope to have a feedback meeting for parents/guardians on January 26th.
The Tara & District Credit Union Quiz takes place in Skryne School on Monday January 30th. A big congratulations to all the pupils who made it onto the Rathfeigh teams. Mrs Vaughan will be preparing the children for the quiz over the next few weeks.
First class pupils will start learning the tin whistle in the next few weeks. All pupils in First class must purchase the tin whistle and accompanying book. The total cost is €15.00. Please send in the money in an envelope as soon as possible.
Swimming continues this Wednesday for First, Second and Fifth classes. Swimming lessons on January 25th have been cancelled as the school will be closed. The final swimming lesson will now take place on February 22nd. The cost of swimming lessons is €35.00. Please send in the money in an envelope.
We will be running a ‘Draughts’ competition in all classes from First to Sixth in the next few weeks. Reviving this old board game should be of great interest to many pupils. We would be delighted if you could teach the rules of draughts to your child at home. Each class teacher will go through the rules of ‘Draughts’ in class also.
This week’s Briathar na Seachtaine is ‘Ith’ ( to eat)
e.g.
- Ith do bhricfeasta (Eat your breakfast)
- Ith do mhilseáin (Eat your sweets)
- An bhfuil cead agam mo lón a ithe ? (Can I eat my lunch)
Reminder: The school is closed on Wednesday January 25th and Friday January 27th.
There is a Board of Management meeting in the school on Monday January 23rd.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
