A Thuisti,
Welcome back everyone after the Christmas holidays. After a few weeks of fun and excitement it is important that a homework routine is established for the children straight away. Please check your child’s homework and sign their journal on a nightly basis. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child’s education please make an appointment with their class teacher.
The door to the school hall is opened at 8.50a.m. each morning. No responsibility is accepted for pupils arriving before this time. Under no circumstances should parents leave the school until the door to the hall is opened. Classes start at 9.00a.m. Pupils should be in their class line in the hall before 9.00a.m. School finishes at 2.40p.m. The school cannot accept responsibility for looking after children after that time.
All pupils must wear the full school uniform to school each day except on P.E. days or when there is after-school activities immediately after school.
Swimming starts for First, Second and Third classes in Navan Swimming Pool for six weeks starting on Wednesday January 13th. We will need a number of parents of the younger children to travel to the swimming lessons to help their own child with the drying of hair etc. The cost of swimming lessons is €35.00. The bus will be leaving the school at 11.50a.m. (approx.) and returning around 2.00p.m. We would like to thank the Parents’ Association for their contribution towards the cost of buses. Our swimming policy can be viewed on the school website (www.rathfeighns.org). If you don’t have access to a computer a hard copy of the policy can be obtained from the office.
On Thursday January 14th M & M Theatrical Productions will be performing ‘Cinderella’ in the school hall for the children. The performance starts at 1.15p.m. and finishes at 2.30p.m. As a result all children will be going home at 2.40p.m. The cost per pupil is €6.00. Please send in money in an envelope.
I would like to remind parents that the school is closed on Friday January 29th. The school calendar can be viewed on the school website.
I would like to wish the children, staff and parents a happy, safe and successful 2016.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
Priomh Oide.
