Dear Parents/Guardians,

Parent/Teacher Meetings

Parent/Teacher meetings take place this Thursday (27th) and Friday (28th) from 1.15pm to 3.15pm. The school closes at 1pm on both days for all pupils. The children were given the times last week for their meeting so please check your child’s journal. If you weren’t assigned a time please contact the school. Each meeting lasts 10 minutes and we ask parents/guardians to be punctual.

Fairyhouse Cross-Country Championships

We have 17 pupils taking part in the Fairyhouse Cross Country Championships last Wednesday and we are proud of everyone’s efforts particularly as the weather was exceptionally cold. Congratulations to Ella on winning a bronze medal in her event. Thanks to Mrs Kennedy, Mr Corrigan and Cathy for supervising the children at the event.

School Closure

The school will be closed on Monday December 1st as all staff are attending a Child Protection Course in Navan Education Centre.

Tara & District Art Competition

We had a large number of pupils who entered the Tara & District Credit Union Art Competition a few weeks ago. The following pupils won prizes:

Under 7’s 1st Meadhbh
2nd Caoimhe
3rd Aoibhín
8-10 years1st Grace
2nd James O’R
3rd Aibhlinn

The winner of each category goes through to the next round. The children who won prizes will get their prizes tomorrow.

‘Re-turn’ Bottles/Cans

The ‘Re-turn’ initiative in the school is progressing very smoothly this year with a different family returning the bottles weekly. Thanks. All children will receive a Christmas Annual in early December from the proceeds of the scheme. I have been in contact with the Parents’ Association about ‘ideas’ on how to spend the money later in the school year.

Admissions for September 2026

Admissions for children starting in Rathfeigh N.S. opened on October 1st. If your child is starting school in September 2026 please send in an Enrolment Form as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you. Information regarding Enrolments can be found on the school website and the Rathfeigh N.S. Facebook page.

Book Fair

The Book Fair was very successful again this year. It was great to see the children so enthusiastic about visiting the Book Fair on a daily basis. They were engrossed in their books and long may this continue. The school received approximately €1,050 book commission on sales over the week. Thanks to Mrs Campbell for co-ordinating the Book Fair again this year.

Consent Forms

Each pupil has been given two forms today to bring home and to be filled out by their parent/guardian. These forms must be sent back by Wednesday 26th November. One form is for the cold school lunches which we hope to have up and running after Christmas (this will be down to the company looking after it; unfortunately we have no control over the time frame). The second form is for the Flu Vaccine which will be administered on December 10th. If you do not wish for your child to have the Flu Vaccine there is no need to inform us just send the form back blank.

Is Mise,

Seamus Tansley
