A Thuisti,
Friendship Week
This week we are celebrating Friendship Week. We will be focussing on the importance of Friendships in our lives inside and outside of school. We will be doing a variety of activities to promote happy and healthy relationships with a focus also on our Anti-Bullying Policy.
Naming our Sensory Room
Mrs Vaughan and Nicola have organised a competition for the children to give our Sensory Room a ‘name’ e,g. ‘The Zen Den’. All the children were given a slip of paper last week to give them an opportunity to give our Sensory Room and exciting name. The children have until this Wednesday to enter. We will let everyone know on Thursday the winning entry. Best of luck everyone! A big thanks to Ms. Reynolds who has spent numerous hours painting the outside of the Sensory Room.
Open Day
As I mentioned last week in the newsletter and the RST newsletter we will be having an Open Day on Saturday October 16th from 11a.m. to 3p.m. This is one step in our promotion of the school and hopefully all families can play their part in informing people of our Open Day. Thanks.
First Confession and First Communion
The children in 3rd class will be receiving the two sacraments on Saturday October 9th at 11.00a.m. in Rathfeigh Church. The wait is nearly over and we are really looking forward to this special day. All families can have a maximum of nine people present.
On Monday October 11th (2 days after First Communion) the children will come to school in their First Communion outfits for the class photograph. Please contact Suzanne in Circus Photography immediately if you wish to have individual or photographs with siblings taken on Monday 11th. (Flyer e-mailed to parents/guardians last Wednesday with further information).
Contact Tracing
On Saturday I e-mailed all parents/guardians information on Contact Tracing that will be in place in schools from today. The number of positive Covid-19 cases countrywide is exceptionally high. If your child has any symptoms whatsoever consistent with Covid-19 please contact a G.P. immediately and don’t send your child to school. We all , as parents/guardians, have a responsibility not to send our children to school if they have symptoms of Covid-19. Please complete the Return to School Parental Declaration Form if your child is absent from school for any reason.
School Vaccination Programme for Junior Infants
www.immunisation.ieEach child in Junior Infants will bring home a consent form for their booster 4 in 1 vaccination today. Please complete this form and return it to the school in the envelope provided before Wednesday September 29th. All forms need to be returned even if you are not consenting to your child being vaccinated. At present MMR and 4 in 1 vaccinations for junior infants will be in vaccination centres. Parents/Guardians will be contacted with a text via Swift Queue offering them an appointment. Should you require further information please visit www.immunisation.ie or contact the Immunisation Office on 087-2536121 or 087-2830307.
Parents’ Association
Reminder: The Parents’Association meeting is tonight Monday 27th September at 8.00p.m. in the school hall.
If your child is new to the school or you have never been involved with the Parents’ Association this is a great opportunity to come along, see what it’s all about and meet other parents/guardians.
We’ll be discussing fundraising ideas and a wish list of things the school would like to fundraise for.
It’s a new school year and new ideas are very welcome, so please come along tonight and have an input in the Parents’ Association important role in our school. Thank you.
Art & Craft/Insurance/Copies/Folders/Homework Journals
On September 6th we sent an e-mail to parents/guardians requesting payment for the above items for all children in the school. If you haven’t already paid for the above please pay online using the link sent to you by e-mail on September 6th. or send in cash/cheque in an envelope as soon as possible.
School Closure
The school is closed this Friday October 1st as per our school calendar.
