20th September, 2021.
A Thuisti,
First Confession/Communion
The children in 3rd class will be receiving the sacraments of First Confession and First Communion in Rathfeigh Church on October 9th at 11.00a.m. This promises to be a special day for the children particularly as it was cancelled in May. With Covid-19 still prevalent in our society it is very advisable for families to limit their social contacts in the weeks leading up to the big day. Some schools in County Meath had to cancel the First Communion again as children have tested positive with Covid-19 in communion classes and as a result there has been a lot of close contacts. Hopefully this won’t happen in Rathfeigh but better safe than sorry!
We have 10 pupils receiving the sacraments which means each family can have a maximum of nine people present (including the child receiving First Communion).
Sensory Room
The Sensory Room will be fully operational in a few days. This is a great addition to our school. Children who are experiencing anxiousness or stress will be able to use the Sensory Room and we are confident it will really benefit these children. We thank everyone involved in making this forward thinking project a reality. We hope to have an official opening of the Sensory Room in a few weeks.
School Committee to Promote the School
We have set up a committee to promote the school which includes parents, teachers, Board of Management members and Helen. We had our first meeting last week. The committee has decided that we will have an Open Day in the school on Saturday October 16th in the school from 11.00a.m. to 3.00p.m. Can all parents/guardians please send this information to parents/guardians they might know who have children starting in Junior Infants in September 2022. We have many ideas to promote the school but positive word of mouth from parents/guardians is the biggest promotion so please can everyone play their part in promoting the school in a positive manner.

After School Activities

We need a sizeable interest from families for these activities to go ahead so please support the activities that are taking place in the school.
Parents’ Association
There is a Parents’Association meeting in the school on Monday 27th September at 8.00p.m.
