The first week back at school went very smoothly. The children are adapting well to their “new” surroundings and they deserve great credit for being so resilient over the last few months. All going well we will have all the children back in school on Monday 15th. In the meantime the children in 3rd-6th will be continuing with Zoom. We really hope this will be their last week of remote learning but of course nothing is definite in the current climate. The number of daily Covid-19 infections remains very high – both nationally and in Meath. Children must not be sent to school if they are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19. We can’t take chances with the health of anyone in the school community. We must remain vigilant and take all precautions necessary. This includes not congregating outside the school gates before or after school.
Return to School Parental Declaration Form
On Monday March 15th the children in 3rd-6th classes are due to return to school. Parents/guardians of children in these classes must fill out the Return to School Parental Declaration Form which will be e-mailed to all parents/guardians this Friday. This form must be returned by e-mail to [email protected] ONLY. Children will not be allowed to return to school if this form hasn’t been received.
World Book Day
World Book Day was celebrated last week. World Book Day is a celebration of everything to do with books – from the authors and illustrators to the children who read them. The children in Junior Infants to Second class received book tokens last week which can be used in selected book shops. The selection of free books on offer is excellent so please try to avail of this while the books remain in stock in the bookshops. The children in 3rd-6th will receive their book tokens on returning to school next Monday.
Gaelic Football Coaching
Damien Sheridan did Gaelic Football coaching with the children in all classes from September to December. We are hoping to have Damien back after Easter. Hopefully, by then, the number of Covid-19 cases will have further reduced.
Teacher Placement
Sinéad Clarke will be doing Teaching Practice in First and Second class over the next few weeks. Sinéad is a past pupil and we wish her the best of luck over the next few weeks. She will be teaching a few subjects daily.
