A Thuisti,
The ‘Stay Safe’ programme starts tomorrow (Tuesday 26th) in all classes from Senior Infants to Sixth class. If you haven’t returned the consent form please do so tomorrow. We will be implementing the ‘Stay Safe’ programme on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next 3 to 4 weeks. The children may have to complete worksheets at home based on what was learned in class and these must be signed by a parent/guardian.
Our Under 11 Quiz Team will take part in the Credit Union Chapter Final this Friday (27th) in the Pillo Hotel Ashbourne at 7.30p.m. They have been practising hard over the last few weeks and we wish them the very best of luck on Friday night. We thank Mrs Vaughan for preparing the team so well since the start of the year.
On Friday I will be visiting all classes to see the handwriting of all the pupils. Please encourage your child to produce neat legible handwriting and praise them for their efforts.
We had our last rugby coaching session last Tuesday. Some of the senior classes will be taking part in a Tag-Rugby blitz in Ashbourne Rugby Club later in the school year.
Our Boys’ 7-a-side Gaelic Football Team will be playing next Tuesday March 3rd at 3.15p.m. in Skryne. They will be playing Kilmessan, Skryne, Dunsany and St. Stephens.
Our Girls’ 7-a-side Gaelic Football Team will be playing in Skryne on Thursday March 5th at 3.00p.m. They will be playing Kilmessan, Rathcairn, Gaelscoil na Rithe and St. Stephens.
Second class pupils will receive the Sacrament of First Confession in Rathfeigh Church on Thursday 26th March at 7.30p.m.
Pancake Tuesday was a great success. The sixth class pupils did a great job in preparing pancakes for all the pupils and teachers in the school. A big thanks to Nichola Cowley, Heather Mc Auley, Jenny Shanley and Colette Clinton for helping and supervising the children during the making of the pancakes.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
