Quarter Final Football
Our boys’ gaelic football team are playing Kilskyre in the quarter final tomorrow in Gibbstown at 2.30p.m. We will be leaving the school at 1.40p.m. At this stage of the competition it is 9-a-side. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t be in attendance yourself.
Our girls’ team are in the semi-final. This game may be played this week. We will text parents/guardians when we get details of the fixture.
Book Fair
Our annual Book Fair takes place next week. We are getting the delivery of books on Tuesday November 12th. We will need a few parents/guardians to help out in the mornings/afternoons. Please let us know if you can assist us. We will give more details about the Book Fair in next week’s newsletter.
Historical Field Trip
The children in Third and Fourth class will be visiting Newgrange on Thursday November 14th. This is a great opportunity for the children to visit one of the most famous historical sites in the world. The visit is free. We will be travelling by bus which will cost €5.00. Please send in the money in an envelope as soon as possible.
Science Week
We will be celebrating Science Week next week. The children in each class will be doing some interesting science activities. Parents/guardians can also log on to Science Week 2019 for more information.
Parent/Teacher Meetings
Parent/Teacher meetings will take place on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd November. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher. On both days the meetings will take place from 1.30p.m. to 3.45p.m. On both days the school will close at 1.15p.m. If you cant’t be in attendance on these days please make an alternative appointment with the class teacher.
Meath Local Enterprise
The Meath Local Enterprise will be visiting 5th and 6th classes in the next week or so to discuss a business idea with the pupils. They will be working on this
over the next few months. We will give you more details on this initiative after their first visit to the school.
School Closure
The school will be closed on November 29th to facilitate an in-service day on the Primary Language Curriculum.
